Toshiba Canvio Basics 500 GB 2.5" USB 3.0 external hard drive (HDTB405EK3AA)

The Toshiba Canvio Basics 500 GB (HDTB405EK3AA) is a portable 2.5" external hard drive for everyday storage and moving data. 500 GB is enough for documents, several years of photos and a backup of your work files. It is the most affordable capacity in the line.

It connects via USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) with an interface speed of up to 5 Gbit/s and is USB 2.0 compatible. No power adapter is needed: the drive is powered from your computer's or laptop's USB port. The case is sturdy black plastic with a matte finish.

The drive comes formatted in NTFS and works with Windows straight away, with no software to install. For macOS or a Smart TV you can reformat it to exFAT. The case has no shock protection, so do not move the drive while it is running, and carry it in a sleeve in your bag.
