FAQ
How much space does a 1 TB drive really have?
Windows will show about 931 GB. That is a difference in counting (decimal vs binary units), not a defect.
Is 1 TB enough for games?
For a few modern games - yes, but big titles take tens or hundreds of gigabytes. For a game library, 2-4 TB is more comfortable.
How long will a 1 TB drive last in a recorder?
Recording 24/7 from two 2 MP H.265 cameras (about 2 Mbit/s each), roughly three weeks; from four cameras, 11-12 days. For CCTV choose the dedicated WD Purple series.
1 TB HDD or SSD?
For a system drive, an SSD gives noticeably faster boot times. For data, archives or replacing a drive in an old PC, an HDD is cheaper.
