What drive height does a laptop need?
Most modern laptops take 7 mm 2.5" drives; older ones take 9.5 mm. A 7 mm drive fits both bays, but a 9.5 mm drive will not fit a 7 mm bay.
How do I know if an HDD will fit my laptop?
Check your laptop's specifications or find out the model of the current drive. If there is only an M.2 slot and no 2.5" bay, you cannot fit an internal HDD - an external drive is the answer.
Which is better for a laptop: HDD or SSD?
For system speed, an SSD. An HDD makes sense as a cheap replacement for a faulty drive in an old laptop or as a second drive for data.
Can I fit a second drive instead of the DVD drive?
