FAQ
How does a server drive differ from a regular one?
Enterprise series are built for 24/7 operation under a much higher annual workload, tolerate vibration in multi-drive chassis and carry a longer warranty. The trade-off is more noise, more heat and a higher price.
Can I put a server drive in a home PC or NAS?
Yes, if it is the SATA version. Bear in mind it is louder than consumer drives and needs good airflow.
What do I need to connect a SAS drive?
A SAS controller or HBA and a suitable cable or drive cage. A SAS drive will not connect to a motherboard SATA port.
